This is where you paste your Alpaca API keys. BUCK$ uses these to read your portfolio, check balances, and place orders. Keys are encrypted with AES-256 and stored server-side — they never touch the browser after submission.
Paper Trading mode uses Alpaca's paper account (simulated money). Live Trading mode uses your real funded account. Always test on paper first.
Autonomous Mode — Master switch. When ON, BUCK$ places trades automatically. When OFF, scans still run but no orders are executed. Useful for monitoring without trading.
Pre-Market / After-Hours — Controls trading outside standard 9:30am–4:00pm ET hours. Extended hours have wider spreads and lower liquidity. Bracket orders are replaced with limit orders during these sessions per Alpaca rules.
Earnings Blackout (SG-2) — Blocks new entries when extreme implied volatility spikes are detected on earnings stocks. Prevents buying into earnings uncertainty.
Black Swan Guard (SG-4) — When VIX exceeds 40 (extreme market fear), all new buys are suspended. BUCK$ switches to capital preservation mode automatically.
Controls what percentage of your available cash BUCK$ allocates to options vs equity trades. Default is 50/50.
Options must be separately opted into via the Options Trading section. Options are disabled by default.
HALT ALL TRADING — Immediately suspends all trading activity. Existing positions remain open — this does not close them. Use this if you want to pause BUCK$ manually.
LIQUIDATE ALL POSITIONS — Closes every open equity position at market price. Use with caution. Does not close options positions (use the Options tab for those).
CANCEL ALL OPEN ORDERS — Cancels all pending orders that have not yet been filled.
These run automatically before every single trade. You do not need to configure them.
If unrealized losses reach 2% of your portfolio in a single day, all new buy orders are suspended for the rest of the session. Existing positions remain open. Resets at market open the next day.
Detects extreme implied volatility spikes (call/put ratio > 3x) on known earnings stocks. Blocks entries when earnings risk is detected. Toggle in Controls.
Verifies market data is fresh and valid before any scan. If Polygon data is unavailable or stale, the scan is skipped rather than trading on bad data.
Monitors VIX in real time. Above 40 (extreme fear), all new buys halt. Above 35, options trading is also suspended. BUCK$ moves to capital preservation automatically.
No single trade can exceed 30% of available cash (60% for high-conviction Hail Mary trades that require all 10 qualifying conditions). Total portfolio deployment is capped at 80%.
1. Ensure your Alpaca account has options trading approval (Level 2 minimum)
2. Ensure your account balance is $5,000 or greater
3. Go to CONTROLS → Options Trading — Opt-In Required
4. Click ENABLE OPTIONS TRADING, read the risk acknowledgment, and accept
5. Use the Allocation Split slider to set your equity/options balance
Covered Calls: When BUCK$ holds 100+ shares of a stock, it sells an out-of-the-money call option against those shares to collect premium income. The call is closed automatically when premium decays to 50% of the original value.
Cash-Secured Puts: BUCK$ sells put options at strikes below current price, collecting premium. Full cash equal to strike × 100 is reserved. If assigned, you receive shares at a discount. A stop-loss is automatically placed at 7% below the strike price on any assignment.
When the Trinity Engine reaches 85%+ conviction on a symbol AND unusual institutional options flow is confirmed, BUCK$ buys the nearest ATM contract with 7–45 days to expiration.
